Enharmonic Equivalents
Enharmonic equivalents are tones that sound the same pitch but are written with a different letter name. In this image to the right it shows two examples of enharmonic equivalents. F# and Gb are written differently, but when played it sounds the same. The keyboard above shows that the same key is played for both of these notes. Example two is exactly the same. |
